Everyone loves a good gadget. I mean, they?re basically shiny toys for the working world, right? Here are seven gadgets that business travelers should be talking about.
1. Polished Oval WiFi/2GB USB Cufflinks, $249.99
Don?t let the size fool you; these cufflinks can hold your biggest secrets! One cufflink is a 2GB USB Flash drive, great for storing your top-secret documents. Within the other cufflink is a mini router, making you the hotspot for all of your devices. Forget hotel business centers ? now you can have everything you need at the end of your sleeves.
2. Apple MagSafe Airline Adapter, $49
Powerless on an airplane? Apple?s got your back. While flying, you can use their Magsafe Airline Adapter to keep your MacBook, MacBook Pro or MacBook Air powered up. Like they say, ?There is power in simplicity.? Just plug it into the power port on your seat, and you?re good to go. The only ?but?: while it does keep your laptop powered up, it will not charge the battery.
3. Grid-It iPad, $34
You know that moment when you?re cramped on an airplane and can?t find that one item in your jam-packed bag? You?re getting hot and lightheaded, your head is hitting the seat in front of you and you just want to dump everything out and start throwing things? Maybe that?s just me. Regardless, nothing is more frustrating than a jumble of chargers, cords and devices in your carry-on. Say goodbye to the mess with Grid-It organization. Their iPad case offers numerous ways to organize with its weave of elastic bands. Grid-It also offers a MacBook Air case and a regular Grid-It organizer that features a rear zippered pocket for additional storage.
4. Virtual Keyboard Keychain, $99.99
This keychain is anything but ordinary. It screams, ?Welcome to the future!? Revolutionary laser technology allows this gadget to project a virtual keyboard on any flat surface. How does it work? Through Bluetooth it can easily and wirelessly connect to your tablet or smartphone. Now you can type away any time you want.
5. HDMI Pocket Projector, $299.99
Brookstone boasts that this projector is brilliant, and I have to agree. You can use this portable, pocket-sized projector for business or leisure ? to project data to a client at the office or for an outdoor family movie. The device connects to most smartphones, tablets, computers, game consoles, DVD players and cameras. Pretty brilliant!
6. Belkin Mini Surge Protector Dual USB Charger, $25
This one?s a little more in my price range and a great find for on-the-go travelers. In such a tech savvy world, airport and hotel room outlets are in high demand. With this mini surge protector, you will be a step (or five) ahead. It has three AC outlets and two powered USB outlets, so you can charge everything at once. This thing has mastered multitasking, leaving you to travel carefree.
7. On Your Weigh Luggage Scale, $30
I?ll be the first to admit that I?m a shopaholic when I travel. Same store as my hometown, different city, and I have to have the dress because?just because! When it comes time to battle the zipper on my suitcase, I begin to worry, ?Is my luggage overweight now?? Clearly, I could use the handy, portable On Your Weigh Luggage Scale. Its digital, back-lit display changes from blue to red when your bag is overweight. This is great for packing for a long stay or for anticipating extra weight on my trips home.
Now, what are you waiting for? Go get your gadgets! Happy, effective travels!
